Nakom Paton, Thailand. 1945. Emaciated native patients in a hospital hut. The patient on the right appears to have some form of brace or splint probably for broken bones. The Japanese army impressed many thousands of native labourers to work on the Burma-Thailand railway of which 90,000 were estimated to have died.
