Resume of Address Given by Our Superintendent of Sub Camp Boundless Grace of our Emperor.
Our Terimo-Heika (emperor)’s grace not only extend to his people within and abroad but also to the enemies who have fought against us as well. He has commanded us to provide you with the transportation facilities and accommodation far better than what the Japanese army uses in order that you might live in comfort in the unfamiliar place and climate which we perceive as an example of His graciousness.
You prisoners of war, what do you think of this? You must realize and feel His Majesty’s boundless grace which have been bestowed upon you. You ought to shed tears in thankfulness. In answer to our emperor’s kindness toward his people, every morning we by facing the eastern skies worship the emperor’s palace from a distant, and resolve to repay His acts of kindness.
For this boundless grace which gave been extended to you, war prisoners, I urge you to show your respect by worshipping in the similar manner.
